Meet Michelle Walker, health educator, certified nutritionist, former kindergarten teacher, and mom.

Hi, I'm Michelle Walker, a health educator, certified nutritionist, former kindergarten teacher, and mom.

For over a decade, I taught kindergarten and spent my days helping young children learn, focus, and regulate their emotions. Over time, I began noticing a pattern. Many of the children who struggled most with attention, impulsivity, emotional regulation, and behavior were often the same children arriving with lunchboxes filled with ultra-processed foods.

I couldn't help but wonder if there was a connection. At the time, I didn't have the scientific background to understand what I was seeing or what to do with that information, but the question stayed with me.

That curiosity eventually led me back to school and into a completely different career. Today, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Education, certifications in nutrition, health coaching, and neurobehavioral change, and I am currently completing my Master's degree in Health Education and Behavior at the University of Florida.

More importantly, I'm a mom who has navigated picky eaters, tight budgets, busy schedules, and a child with neurodivergent tendencies. I understand how overwhelming it can be to sort through conflicting nutrition advice while simply trying to do what's best for your family.

Fed to Focus was created to explore the growing body of research examining the connection between nutrition, focus, behavior, learning, and overall well-being. My goal is to translate the science into practical, evidence-informed information that parents can understand and apply in everyday life.

Whether you're raising a child with attention challenges, navigating behavioral concerns, or simply interested in supporting your child's health and development, I hope you'll find valuable insights and encouragement here.

Thank you for joining me as we explore the connection between what we feed our children and how they feel, learn, and grow.

Stay connected.
